CCB Custody Services Enjoyed a Substantial Growth in 2004

In 2004, China Construction Bank (CCB) actively tapped the custodial market, made efforts in increasing the number of good customers in the line of custody, promoted asset custody growth, developed new customers resources in QFII custody, and increased service quality. In this way, custodial business increased substantially: at the end of the year, the total custodial funds amounted to RMB 50.2 billion, up 42% over the previous year.
In 2004, in response to the fast development of fund market, CCB continuously strengthened the marketing and services of fund custody, carried out ‘Product Strategy’ and chose good funds. Fund cooperative partners was expanded to 13 fund management companies. CCB, as the agent bank, successfully sold funds issued by Yinhua Fund Management Co. Ltd, Huaxia Fund Management Co. Ltd, Boshi Fund Management Company, Fortune SGAM Fund Management Co. Ltd, Guotai Fund Management Co., and China International Fund Management Co., Ltd. CCB acted as the agent bank to sell the first principal guaranteed fund in China, which was a new product after the sale of money market fund and LOF fund. By the end of the year, CCB had served as custodian for 26 funds, an increase of 7 funds and 23 billion initial issues, doubling the increase of the last year.
In 2004, CCB QFII custody enjoyed a sound and rapid growth. CCB expanded QFII clients with an increase of 2 and custodial fund rose by US$ 150 million to US$ 250 million. At present, the number of QFII clients and custodial scale remained the top position among Chinese banks.
Meanwhile, the custodial volume of corporate annuity funds and insurance funds enjoyed a steady growth. And CCB continued to maintain a good cooperative relationship with large-scale corporate pension fund clients such as State Grid Corporation, Shanghai Corporate Annuity Fund Development Center, Shenzheng Corporate Annuity Fund Management Center, Yangzi Petrochemical.
In 2004, CCB always settled funds in a timely and accurate manner, improved business process, and increased custodial service quality. CCB settled funds of 57,262 in the year with the total amount of RMB 787.3 billion.
