Shanghai VolksWagen Long Card Unveils at the Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition

After a month of card sample selection, Shanghai VolksWagen Long Card was finally unveiled at the Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition on July 24, 2006. CCB and Shanghai VolksWagen Automobile Co., Ltd. (Shanghai VolksWagen) jointly held the launching ceremony and Wang Meng, champion of the women short track speed skating final at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin, became the first card holder.

 

The reporter was told that Shanghai VolksWagen Long Card is a co-brand credit card tailored by CCB, Shanghai VolksWagen and Visa International Service Association especially for the owners and would-be owners of Shanghai VolksWagen automobiles. It is the first time for a Chinese commercial bank to issue the dual currency credit card jointly with an automobile manufacture in China and marks another successful innovation of credit card services.

 

Shanghai VolksWagen Long Card is the first credit card in China whose appearance is selected by its holders. In addition to all the functions of Long credit card, it has another three merits. First, it boasts the fresh concept of score for cash. Card holders can accumulate a score equaling RMB6 for every RMB1,000 spent with the card. Such score can be used to pay for new cars, components or second-hand cars at the over 700 retail and service outlets nationwide. It can be used with other discount at the same time. Second, owners of Shanghai VolksWagen automobile can join the owners’ club to enjoy regular maintenance, road-side service, help-self travel and other special services. Third, card holders can enjoy various preferential activities held by CCB and Shanghai VolksWagen such as new car road test and group purchase discount.
