CCB Releases Long Credit Card for Harbin Institute of Technology

On September 12, CCB held a grand ceremony, launching the University Long Card especially for Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) on the campus. Luo Zhefu, CCB Vice President, Wang Shuguo, President of HIT, Deng Zongquan and Li Shaobin, vice presidents of HIT were present at the event.

As a credit card jointly launched by CCB and well-known institutions of higher learning, University Long Card is born out of the bank’s Long Credit Card (Dual Currency) and offers all of its functions including consumption first and repayment second, dual currency and a maximum grace period of 50 days. Furthermore, using the card, teachers and students can buy products such as computers, mobile phones, appliances and furniture on installment free of interest and fresh graduates can apply to CCB for credit report. Buying air tickets at designated sales outlets with the card, holders will get free expensive air travel accident insurance. They also enjoy discounts offered by some restaurants, shopping centers, book stores and traveling agencies. The card charges no annual fee for the first year and three card swipes each year will qualify free annual fee for the second and successive years. The joint launch of the card by CCB and HIT not only provides the university with a credit card up to international standards but also introduces the worldwide popular consumption concepts in the campus, which will help HIT students develop financial knowledge and wealth management skills and facilitate the establishment of student credit system in HIT. Also the follow students of HIT who hold the card will have a sense of pride of their Alma Mater.

Its glorious history started as early as in 1945 when it was selected one of the first 6 key national universities. It became one of the first national “211” project beneficiary universities in 1996 and one of the 9 universities which the central government requires to develop to the standards of leading international universities in 1999. Since releasing the Long Credit Card (Dual Currency) on August 8, 2003, CCB has witnessed continuously expanding market share and accelerating product innovation. It has issued the largest number of dual-currency credit cards among Chinese state-owned banks. The launch of HIT Long Card reflects the efforts of CCB to promote Long credit card in leading universities and help universities build their credit system.
