While focusing on corporate development, CCB also cannot forget employees with difficulties

  ——CCB Employees Help Fund gives help to staff who are in difficult times.

 

 

Autumn is leaving and winter is coming, yet China Construction Bank (CCB) warms the hearts of staff with difficulties in this freezing season. Just in recent days, RMB 1.57 million salvation fund of CCB Employees Help Fund has sent to the second batch of CCB’s staff with difficulties, which also represents a warm blessing from 300 thousand employees of CCB.

 

This time, 20 employees with difficulties in total have got this help. Among them, there are CCB’s staff, retirees, and their families, with the oldest of 73 years and the youngest of 33 years old. All families of them bear different difficulties: some of them suffer serious car accidents; and some endure misfortunes of serious or terminal illness. Due to household’s low income and the heavy burden, their livings are difficult.

 

The husband of a 37-year-old female employee of CCB Qingdao branch became a "vegetative state" in a serious car accident. She and her mother-in-law take turns to take card of him. And her husband is a laid-off worker with no any medical insurance; and the person who is responsible for this accident does not participated in any insurance and also lives a very difficult life cannot afford the medical fees. So far, medical fees have reached more than RMB 450 thousand Yuan and among this, RMB 400 thousand Yuan is in debt.

A 46-year-old CCB worker of CCB Ningxia Branch who had terminated the labor relations with CCB in 2003 was diagnosed as late uremia in 2005 and bears heavy medical fees. For this case, CCB also decides to help this ever-employee. Another one who gets help from CCB is a 48-year-old retired worker of CCB Jiangxi Branch. This worker’s family just has an income of RMB 1,700 Yuan per month, yet has to pay more than RMB 300 thousand medical fees for the family. From the above situation, we can see that all these families deserve this help; and as for those families who have got help, this fund means a very useful help.

The purpose of the establishment of CCB Employees Help Fund is to create unity and mutual assistance, and the good practice of helping the poor and needy, enhance the cohesion and stability of the bank, build up and perfect the long-term effective mechanism for helping needed workers in difficulties. At present, CCB has established this fund throughout branches in provincial and municipal levels. This year, this fund has helped 32 employees in two times, with RMB 2.82 million Yuan in total.

In order to strengthen and standardize the management of CCB Employees Help Fund, and to ensure the fund sending to the poor and needy, CCB has nailed down rules governing fund uses. Head office of CCB distributes the relief annually to the poor and needy in line with the practical situation and the fund amount. CCB’s labor unions at all levels draft schemes, report to the working group of CCB Employees Help Fund at the same level to get approval and have the responsibility to carry out related decisions. And CCB’s labor unions make regular release of their account about the fund to members’ congress or representative congress of the Fund who could monitor unions work.

 

CCB Employees Help Fund has not only strengthened the confidence of workers to overcome difficulties, but also encourage all staff throughout the whole bank to work hard for CCB in a pro-active way. One CCB’s worker suffering from leukemia got the relief and wrote a thank-letter to CCB’s management as follows: “Last year in October, I was diagnosed as a sufferer of leukemia. At that time, I just wanted to die. It was CCB that encouraged me to resist the disease. I cherish my life very much, but now I cherish more the warmth and care of the big family of CCB. I shall live up to CCB’s care and help by tenaciously struggling with the disease, so that I can come back to CCB on an earlier day and continue to make my contributions to CCB’s development.”

"Building a harmonious society" is the strategic task of the 6th Plenary Session of the 16th Central Committee of CCP. CCB will unswervingly uphold this spirit by taking a practical action throughout the whole bank to build a harmonious bank. And CCB will integrate CCB’s strategic vision into the responsibility of building a harmonious society. In recent years, CCB has already taken care of its staff and done a lot of social works for the society. With a good corporate culture, CCB has progressively improved its staff’s awareness and hand-in-hand shared social responsibilities with its employees.
