We Expect Your Participation in the Appraisal and Selection of Ten Most Touching Persons

Experiencing Sincerity and Finding Touching Stories”, the campaign for the appraisal and selection of 2006 CCB ten most touching persons is formally launched today.

It may be a strange yet familiar experience for you. The 20 candidates may be strange to you, or you may surprisingly find some familiar faces who ever served you. A warm feeling of acquaintance will probably arise when you read their stories. They are the representatives selected from our 300,000 employees. The story of every candidate is unique and special. But their stories also share some common themes. Probably you haven’t found the warm-hearted clerk over the counter, the considerate customer manager, the trust-worthy head of the branch, or the familiar faces who ever served you, but you may discover some of their qualities in these 20 candidates. There are also some hidden heroes who you seldom have the chance to meet, like the customer service representatives working on 95533 and 800 customer hotlines, the R&D people working diligently at the back-end, and the ordinary employees who came out boldly to catch the robbers. They are not so distant or strange to us. They are just like you and me. They have their joys and sorrows. But once they start working, they all expect to provide you with the most sincere and professional services no matter they work at the front-end closest to you or at the back-end far from you.

We are fully aware that the current services may not satisfy your expectations, but we have never stopped making efforts to improve our services. Our vision is to be a world-leading commercial bank that provides the best customer services, maximizes shareholders’ value and offers the best opportunities to our employees. On Oct. 27, 2005, CCB went public in Hong Kong Stock Exchange (share code: 939), being the first among the four major state-owned commercial banks. CCB won a lot of awards since then, such as the Bank of the Year in China in 2005 issued by the Banker, an authoritative British magazine, and Asia’s most profit-making bank awarded by by Asiaweek. CCB was the first H-share company to be included as a constituent stock of Hang Seng Index. These achievements derive from the trust and support of our customers and the dedication, hard work and sincere attitude of our employees. In the daily communications with our customers, there are so many touching stories taking place. To better stimulate the enthusiasm of our employees and improve the quality of our services, we have launched this “Experiencing Sincerity and Finding Touching Stories” campaign to select and award ten most touching persons. With this campaign, we aim at leading you to find out ten most touching persons who made unusual achievements. We invited our customers and employees to nominate candidates. You probably wrote a letter of recommendation to us when we launched the campaign in August 2006. 50 candidates stood out through the preliminary selection and appraisal. The final 20 candidates were selected by voting. Now we need you, together with our employees and the experts, to participate in the appraisal and selection of ten most touching persons. The award ceremony will be held around the Spring Festival.

It has been our philosophy to focus upon customers’ needs and listen to their voices. We expect your interest and participation in the campaign. We hope we can hear your voice. If you feel touched, please vote. If you have touching stories to share, please vote. If you have higher expectations for our services, please vote. Let us find out what are the best services for you and what we should do more to improve.

Your support and participation do make a different!
