A few days ago, China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) issued CBRC’s Decision on Commending the Advanced Units and Persons for the Small Enterprise Loans among China’s Financial Institutions in the Banking Industry in 2006. CCB was appraised as “Advanced Unit for Small Enterprise Loans among China’s Financial Institutions in the Banking Industry in 2006”.

It is reported that through the appraisal event, CRBC aimed at commending the financial institutions that made historic progress in executing and improving “Six Mechanisms” of Small Enterprise Loans, innovating the mechanism of Small Enterprise Loans, innovating the credit products and controlling the risks since the printing and distribution of the Guidance and Suggestions on the Development of Small Enterprise Business. The appraisal was based upon 9 indicators such as the building of Small Enterprise Loans system, team building, the establishment of information systems, the building of incentive and constraint mechanism, HR training, the innovation of services, the price-fixing of risks, the degree of progress in Small Enterprise Loans business and the degree of progress in risk controlling. Over 3000 domestic financial institutions in the banking industry were appraised. 34 financial institutions were separately appraised as the “Advanced Unit” and the “Advanced Person”. CCB and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) won this unusual glory among the four major state-owned commercial banks.

With the concerted efforts of the entire bank in 2006, the small enterprise business demonstrated a strong momentum of healthy and rapid development. CCB made great progress in developing the business model for small enterprise business, improving the supporting policies and systems, innovating speculated products for small enterprises, and the marketing and promotion of products targeted at small enterprises. The loans issued under the “Swift Loan” and “Growth Path” brands have reached nearly RMB20 billion, with only 0.07% bad loans. This appraisal reflects CBRC’s recognition on CCB’s efforts to offer financial services to small enterprises.
